Description
A beautiful design from the John Calvert stable from the late 18th century. His Fleet Street workshop in London has seen some remarkable 18th century chess designs and this is an excellent example. Made from aged (or antiqued) boxwood and Grade 1 Ebony. Triple weighted and felted, the King stand 3.5″ high, weighs 75g and has a base diameter of 1.4″. A chess board (not included) with 2″ squares or more is needed.
