Superb antiqued chess set design as used by Bobby Fischer in Reykjavík in 1972. Triple weighted and felted and comes with double Queens. Each piece is beautifully and elegantly crafted and the white side elegantly aged – or antiqued – so that aesthetically this whole collection is outstanding. It’s not just the Fischer name – the design is fitting as a commemoration of the Reykjavík event that changed the world and was called the ‘Match of the Century’. The politics were USA and Russia (or The Soviet Union), and was a crucial event in the cold war of that time. Ebonised and Boxwood and with a King height of 3.75″ and a base diameter of 1.5″.
Note: The chess board or wooden case is not included, they’re a separate purchase.
